Shelly PRO Modbus Add-on RS485
An RS485 communication add-on for Shelly PRO devices, designed for integration with building and energy management systems. Direct attachment enables data exchange with external controllers and platforms.
This is an expansion add-on and not a standalone device. It requires a compatible Shelly PRO device to operate:
Shelly PRO EM-50,
Shelly PRO 3EM 120 A,
Shelly PRO 3EM-400,
Shelly PRO 1, or
Shelly PRO 2.
- Standard Modbus integration with BMS, EMS, SCADA, and PLC systems
- Direct plug-in to compatible Shelly PRO devices via expansion port
- RS485 wired communication for stable long-distance connectivity and multi-device networks (up to 32 nodes)
- Modbus Client mode for reading data from meters, inverters, HVAC, and external controllers without custom gateways
- Modbus Server mode for sharing device data and status with BMS, EMS, SCADA, and monitoring platforms
- Half-duplex operation for reliable data exchange at speeds up to 10 Mbps over distances of up to 50 m outdoors (depending on local conditions)
- Low power consumption under 1 W, powered via 3.3V or 12V from the host device
- Wide environmental range, operating from -20°C to 40°C with 30 - 70% humidity, up to 2000 m altitude
- App-based configuration via Shelly Smart Control for quick setup and management
